American Nurses Association (ANA)
The American Nurses Association is a professional organization representing Registered Nurses through state associations and organizational affiliate members. ANA supports high standards of nursing practice, promoting the economic and general welfare of nurses in the workplace, projecting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and by lobbying the Congress and regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
All Nursing Schools is a comprehensive resource listing nursing programs by degree types, location, or specialty. You may find and investigate nursing schools, request information from nursing schools, and read about frequently asked questions and answers about the field of nursing in general.
In collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labor Women's Bureau, the University of Michigan, School of Nursing has developed GEM-Nursing, an e-mentoring community for those interested in the nursing profession. Frequent topics of discussion include career decision-making, concerns about nursing in general, rewards and challenges in the nursing profession, and opportunities in nursing. Mentoring is typically done electronically and individuals must complete an application form to join GEM-Nursing.
